Following hot on the heels of the Students’ Union elections, is an opportunity to engage in the General Election. Come and watch local Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat, Green Party and UKIP Parliamentary Candidates battle it out for your votes at a political MP’s husting at the Forum.
This Welwyn and Hatfield Times event, hosted by the University’s will feature Welwyn Hatfield Conservative MP and Shadow Housing Minister Grant Shapps, alongside Prospective Parliamentary Candidates for the Constituency, Mike Hobday (Labour), Paul Zukowskyj (Liberal Democrats), Jill Weston (Green Party) and David Platt (UKIP.)
The event, chaired by Terry Mitchinson, Editor for the Welwyn Hatfield Times, will start with an introduction to the politicians followed by a question and answer session.
This is your chance to make a judgement on which Political Party you would like to run the country with this free, face-to-face encounter with the people you can vote for to be your local representative.
Event date: Monday 26th April
Event time: 18:30- 20:00 (Please be seated by 18:30)
Location: The Forum (main auditorium)
If you would like to attend: There is limited capacity so please register for your space at
events@herts.ac.uk or call 01707 286525. Spaces can be reserved on a first come first serve basis, book early to avoid disappointment. Places are limited to two places per booking. The name of each attendee must be provided at the time of booking.

REMEMBER – if you wish to vote in the Welwyn Hatfield Constituency you must register your vote BEFORE 20 APRIL.
